After their studying hours, students of the BA School of Business and Finance have sports activities in a gym situated in Skanstes street 43. The time in the gym is devoted to basketball and football.
Students take active part in Universiade Competitions in different sports organized by the Sports Union of Latvian Higher Education Institutions. In 2007/2008 and 2009/2010 academic year men’s teams achieved the best sports results in the overall ranking of the competitions of higher education institutions when BA took the fifth place. In 2009/2010 academic year students men’s teams participated in ten sports, thus the fifth place in overall ranking was naturally determined. BA student team has been playing in SEB Student Basketball League already for seven years, where the best results were shown in season 2006/2007 (the 3rd place). BA football team has also been playing in different tournaments for many years showing good results both in the Bank Tournament and in the Universiade. Over the past few years first places were taken by our tennis players (3rd and 2nd place in Universiade overall ranking, 1st place in men’s individual ranking and in doubles), volleyball players (1st place in the international cup of higher education institutions in 2009), football players (2nd place in Universiade in 2010). The sports achievements of BA students have been appreciated by the students of other higher education institutions, sportsmen and sports organizers, which can be proved by the election of BA Sports manager to the board of the Sports Union of Latvian Higher Education Institutions in 2008.
Basketball team of BA School of Business and Finance
Basketball is a beloved sport at BA School of Business and Finance. Coach of basketball team of BA School of Business and Finance for year has been Ainars Tomass. During Academic year 2022/2023 practices will be help at BA School of Business and Finance and Teikas Secondary School. More information on schedule will be announced soon.
Like every year, this will also be a year when the basketball team participates in OlyBet Weekday league, where games happen all throughout the study year.
