Based on the decision of the extraordinary session of the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia on May 28, which envisages making amendments to the law “On Holidays, Commemorations and Marked Days” to include May 29 (Monday) in the list of days to be celebrated, today is an official holiday.

It is determined in connection with the success of the Latvian national ice hockey team at the World Ice Hockey Championship, winning the prestigious third place and bronze medals!

Taking into account what was stipulated in the amendments to the law, BA staff (general and academic) have a day off today, except for the staff who must ensure the defense of bachelor’s theses on this day.

Other important information about work on May 29:

• The study process (lectures and seminars) does not take place;
• Defense of bachelor’s theses – in progress.
