Academic leave of absence

When an international student takes a study break (academic leave of absence) the OCMA must be notified and the residence permit will be cancelled.

The student isn´t allowed to work anymore in Latvia and must return back to his / her home country.

When the student wants to continue his studies after an academic leave of absence, BA School of Business and Finance needs to prepare an invitation request as well as a guarantee letter.

BA School of Business and Finance also pays the state fee (only for bachelor). The OCMA is preparing the new invitation letter and sends it to our institution. We will send those documents to the student or his agent. Actually, it means that the admission procedure needs to start all over again. All of the arising expenses of this procedure has to be covered by the student.

First of all, the student needs to contact BA School of Business and Finance at admission@ba.lv. After receiving the new invitation letter, the student has to go to the embassy of Latvia in his home country to submit all necessary documents for a new request to the OCMA.
